Typically referred to as a ginger jar or urn, this is a classic Mexican decoration called a tibor in Spanish. Handmade and painted by dedicated artists, our tibores have a fresh and contemporary look that fits any decor style. The black zigzag tibor is a great example -- the chevron pattern adds a modern and stylish look to the home, whether displayed prominently on the shelf, used to decorate the patio, or when the lid is removed, filled with a large bouquet of fresh flowers. Limited availability.
The flush-edged, shaped rectangular top above two corresponding locking drawers mounted with foliate handles and raised on tapering pentagonal legs ending in brass sabots. Creation date Circa 1950
This is a print of my original watercolour painting of feathers I collected in the bush near my home. This is the latest in my series of works of found and collected objects, and natural curiosities. It was inspired by the beautiful plumage of a little Kingfisher that has taken up residence in one of our gum trees.
