Enough About the Olympics—Let's Talk About Design in Brazil

Share

With the 2016 Summer Olympics in full swing, news sources have been abuzz with talk of all the drama happening on the sporting world's biggest stage. And while that's all interesting enough, we here over at NousDecor are far more concerned with something else in Brazil that for once doesn't have anything to do with sports. That is—a bevy of designers in the country with a distinct sense of style and aesthetics that give their interior spaces a vibrant feel. But while everyone else is talking about which team they're rooting for this summer, we know which team we're on—that of Brazilian design!

open space

This space by São Paulo architect Felipe Hess features an unconventional arrangement of pieces that create emphasis on a more spartan look—a strip of cement across the wall and an unused rug area give open space more weight. Inspiration Image via CasaVogue
