Countdown to Outside Lands: Touring Chromeo Singer Dave 1's NYC Apartment

By Eva Recinos Imagine a huge, lush park where you can discover amazing art, try delicious food and see music's biggest talents. From August 8 to 10, that dream becomes a reality in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Being in SF, our team is more than excited for the one-and-only Outside Lands. The festival will feature musical stars like The Flaming Lips, Kanye West, Jenny Lewis, Tegan & Sara and more. We're counting down the days until the festival by taking a look at the stylish interiors from some of this year's acts (as we are wont to do). First up: a swoon-worthy apartment in NYC where Chromeo's Dave 1 (AKA David Macklovitch) lives. This is obviously the space of a man with a love for careful organization, chic details and minimalist decor. Check out some of our favorite photos of his space along with our curated moodboards:

modern and smart

David's got a great eye for art, and it especially shows in this stylish living room. Three geometric prints in dark colors stand out against a white wall and taupe couch. A mid-century floor lamp and glass coffee table round out this sophisticated look. We could definitely see this space inspiring song lyrics.

minimal and crisp

The minimal theme continues in this crisp, white bedroom. Two pieces of bright art automatically catch your eye and a tall plant stands out against white sheets and lamps. This airy space proves — like much great decor — that less really is more.

simple and sophisticated

As a stark contrast to the other rooms, Dave's kitchen features dark furniture and accents. We love the simple wooden shelves topped with wine glasses, mugs and glass water bottles. A sleek, black countertop gives the finishing touch to this effortlessly modern look.
